Medal to Private Brown in damaged card box of issue and in registered envelope addressed to Mrs F. Brown of Rochwell, near Kettering.

William Alfred Brown was born in Rugeley, Staffordshire and enlisted at Kettering, Northamptonshire. Serving with the 7th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 27 September 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.

W. H. Chalmers was born in Rochester, Kent and enlisted at Chatham. Serving with the 29th Battery, 42nd Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he was killed in action on 4 July 1915. He was buried in the Ramparts Cemetery, Lille Gate.
