Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing’s Nek (Capt. J. W. H. Seppings, R. Dub. Fus.) nearly extremely fine £500-600

Lieutenant Colonel John William Hamilton Seppings was born on 30 September 1873, and appointed a Second Lieutenant (from the Militia) on 7 December 1895 in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers; promoted to Lieutenant, 27 November 1897; Captain, 11 June 1901; and Major, 7 December 1915.

He was severely wounded at Almonds Nek on 11 June 1900 during the Relief of Ladysmith, whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He subsequently served with the Army Pay Department until 1915 and was not entitled to any other medals.
