‘Dodimead, William, 25B/715 Private: South Africa Medal roll gives initial J. and number 647, amended to 715. Born in Warminster, Wiltshire; trade - labourer. Enlisted Monmouth, Monmouthshire 7.1.1876; age 20 years. Died of disease 19.4.1878. Commemorated on the memorial at St. Paul’s Churchyard, Komgha, Eastern Cape. South Africa Medal with clasp 1877-8.’
