Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1866 (A.B. Seaman G. E. Philpot, R.N.) first initial officially corrected, very fine £140-160

George Edward Philpot, who was born at Deal, Kent in September 1843, entered the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class in October 1857. Advanced to Able Seaman in August 1863, he went on to serve off Canada in H.M.S. Niger during the Fenian troubles of 1866, and was discharged ashore to the Sheerness Reserve in February 1869.
