India General Service 1854-95, 2 clasps, Burma 1885-7, Burma 1887-89 (4669 Pte. H. Corbett, 1st Bn., Rif. Brig.) good very fine £120-150

Henry Corbett enlisted into the Rifle Brigade on 3 October 1881 at Winchester, Hampshire, having previously served with the 4th Battalion, Warwickshire Militia. He deserted on 30 December 1882, subsequently rejoining the battalion after 117 days absence, for which he was tried and convicted by court martial, resulting in his being imprisoned for two months. On 31 December 1887 he was again tried and imprisoned, this time for being drunk on duty and sentenced to 42 days hard labour.
