India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Persia (R. Patrick, 14th King’s Lt. Dgns.) slack suspension claw, edge bruising and contact marks, good fine £80-100

Robert Patrick was born at Paisley, Renfrewshire and enlisted in the 14th Light Dragoons at Westminster in January 1851. As verified by his discharge papers, he subsequently served in the Persian Expedition in 1857 and with the Central India Field Force under Sir Hugh Rose in the following year, the latter operations including the action at Koonch on 7 May, the capture of Calpee and pursuit of the rebels on 23 May, the capture of the Morar cantonments on 16 June and the re-capture of Gwalior three days later. Having once been reduced from the same rank, Patrick was discharged as a Saddler Corporal in September 1873.
