1914-15 Star and British War Medal 1914-20 pairs (2) (350605 W. Broom, S.B.S./Ch. S.B.S., R.N.; M.5930 W. T. Weaving, S.B.A., R.N.) nearly extremely fine (4) £40-60

William Broom was born in Exeter, Devon on 17 February 1877. A Postman by occupation, he entered the Royal Navy in 1898, attaining the rank of Chief Sick Berth Steward in September 1918. Broom served thoughout the war on the dreadnaught battleship Ajax. The ship formed part of the 2nd battle squadron at Jutland. He was discharged with a pension on 27 August 1920. Sold with copied service papers.

Walter Thomas Charles Weaving was born in Cirencester, Gloucestershire on 28 October 1894. A Plumber by trade, he entered the Royal Navy as a Probationary Sick Berth Attendant on 27 March 1913, becoming a Sick Berth Attendant on 1 September 1914. Between 1 April 1915 and 20 November 1917 he served aboard the dreadnaught battleship
Warspite, a ship heavily involved and damaged at Jutland. In the battle the ship and her sisters formed part of the 5th battle squadron attached to the battlecruiser fleet because of their speed. He was discharged on 1 September 1914 due to tuberculosis. Sold with copied service papers.
