Royal Navy L.S. & G.C. (2), E.VII.R. (350242 E. F. Chipping, S.B. Steward, H.M.S. Victory; H. E. B. Watts, Ch. S.B. Std., H.M.S. Boscawen) first with slight contact marks, very fine; second nearly extremely fine (2) £60-80

Edward Frederick Chipping was born in Norwood, Surrey on 30 January 1873 and enlisted into the Navy as a Probationary Sick Berth Attendant on 17 July 1894. Attaining the rate of Chief Sick Berth Steward in April 1912, he was discharged on 18 May 1915 due to heart disease. During the war, prior to his discharge he had served in the R.N. Hospital at Malta. Sold with copied service papers.

Henry Edmund Broadway (alias Ernest) Watts was born in Bridgewater, Somerset on 21 April 1867. A Correspondence Clerk by occupation, he entered the Royal Navy as a Probationary Sick Berth Attendant in May 1885. Attaining the rank of Chief Sick Berth Steward in July 1901, he served throughout the Great War at the Royal Naval Hospital Chatham. Sold with copied service paper.
