Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Lucknow (Lieut. Alexr. Morrogh, 9th Lancers), with engraved silver riband buckle, three letters of surname corrected, contact wear, about very fine £300-400

Alexander Morrogh was appointed a Cornet in the 9th Lancers in June 1856 and was advanced to Lieutenant in April 1857. Subsequently engaged in the suppression of the Indian Mutiny, he was present at the siege and capture of Lucknow, the summer campaign in the Oude and Rohilcund, the capture of Bareilly and several other engagements (Medal and clasp). Advanced to Captain in March 1860, he resigned his commission in 1867 and is last recorded as having attended the annual officers’ regimental dinner in 1891.
