A Hong Kong services M.B.E. group of six awarded to Warrant Officer Class 2 F. C. Jones, East Surrey Regiment, late R.S.M. of the Hong Kong Volunteers

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire
, M.B.E. (Military) Member’s 2nd type breast badge; 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; Defence and War Medals; Army L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 1st issue, Regular Army (6137055 W.O. Cl. 2, Surreys), mounted as worn, very fine or better (6) £300-400

M.B.E. London Gazette 1 January 1947.

Frederick Charles Jones was taken P.O.W. at Hong Kong in December 1941, while serving in the rank of Regimental Sergeant-Major, H.K.V.D.C. It is possible, therefore, that his subsequent award of the M.B.E. reflected his deeds as prisoner of the Japanese - certainly it was gazetted to him in his immediate post-war rank of Sergeant-Major, H.K.V.D.C.
