Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, slight excess of solder to clasp facing of top clasp (7562 Pte. T. Lloyd Vol: Coy: R.W. Fus.) edge bruising, polished and worn, nearly very fine £120-£160

Thomas Lloyd was born in Llanbedr, Merionethshire, in 1875 and attested for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at Wrexham on 4 February 1901, having previously served in the Regiment’s 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion. He served with the 2nd Volunteer Service Company in South Africa during the Boer War from 25 February 1901, and was invalided to England on 17 December 1901. He was discharged on 10 February 1902.
