Roger Ackerley was born and lived at Seaforth, Lancashire, and enlisted in Liverpool. He was one of the original contingent of the Liverpool Scottish to travel to France aboard the S.S. Maidan in November 1914, and died of wounds in France and Flanders on 1 May 1915. He is buried at Bailleul British Cemetery Extension, France.

Henry Edward Pattison was born at West Derby, Liverpool, and also lived and enlisted at Liverpool. He was one of the original contingent of the Liverpool Scottish to travel to France aboard the S.S.
Maidan in November 1914, and was wounded during the charge at Hooge in June 1915, subsequently being killed in action in France and Flanders on 9 August 1916 at the Battle of Guillemont.
