Archibald William Lyle-Kidd was born in 1871 and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 2nd Brigade, North Irish Division, Royal Artillery (Militia) on 2 April 1889. He was appointed a temporary Captain, Royal Field Artillery, on 22 October 1914, and served with the Royal Field Artillery (Special Reserve) during the Great War on the Western Front from 12 July 1915, and subsequently in Italy. Advanced Major, for his services during the Great War he was twice Mentioned in Despatches. He died in 1932.
