M.S.M. London Gazette 18 January 1919:
‘In recognition of valuable service rendered with the Armies in France and Flanders.’

John L. Davis attested for the Hampshire Yeomanry and served with them during Great War - the Regiment served in France from June 1916 before being dismounted and joining the 15th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment in September 1917. It went to Italy in November 1917, before returning to the Western Front in March 1918.
