Charles Edward Pammenter, a native of Cambridge, enlisted in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and served with the Hawke Battalion, Royal Naval Division, during the Great War on the Western Front. He died on 1 August 1918, and is buried at Tincourt New British Cemetery.
