Charles Beaulieu attested for the City of London Yeomanry (Rough Riders) on 4 January 1915 and served with them during the Great War in Egypt from 7 May 1915. He subsequently transferred to the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry), and was discharged due to sickness on 11 March 1919, being awarded a Silver War Badge, no. 522425.
