John Bryan Davies-Thomas initially trained as a Cadet Navigator, and was appointed Acting Pilot Officer in the General Duties Branch, Royal Air Force in December 1958. He advanced to Flight Lieutenant (Equipment Branch) in October 1966, and to Squadron Leader (Supply Branch) in July 1971. Davies-Thomas retired in October 1984.
