R.H.S. Case No. 15,857:
‘Charles Newnham, retired builder, rescued George Savage, 14, from the River Thames at Lambeth. Savage was drawn out of his depth by the wash of a steam boat while bathing. Charles Newnham went in with part of his clothes on, swam to his assistance and rescued him.’
