Wilkie, 38th Regt.); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed, fitted with contemporary replacement loop for suspension, the first with considerable edge bruising and contact marks, good fine, otherwise very fine (3) £300-£400

Arthur Alexander Wilkie was appointed Ensign in the 38th Foot on 6 June 1854, and was promoted to Lieutenant on 29 June 1855. He served with the 38th Regiment at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 23rd July 1855 (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). He served in the Indian campaign from November 1857, including the battle of Cawnpore, capture of Meangunge, siege and capture of Lucknow, affairs of Barree and Nugger (Medal with Clasp). He transferred to the 16th Lancers in 1862 or 1863.
