John Dickson was born in London and served with the 10th Hussars during the Great War on the Western Front from 6 October 1914. He transferred to the 3rd Hussars and was reported wounded and missing, later assumed killed in action, on 24 March 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.
