Arthur Padfield was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, and attested there for the Royal Field Artillery. He served in 11th Battery, 15th Brigade during the Great War on the Western Front from 19 August 1914, and was killed in action at Festubert on 13 October 1914. He has no known grave and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, France. He has a small entry in the De Ruvigny Roll of Honour.
