‘26811 Pte. R. G. Martin, 2nd Bn., Wilts. R. (Arundel).
During operations round Eth from 4th to 7th November, 1918, he was invaluable to his platoon commander. If the platoon got into a tight corner he was always to the fore with a display of dash and courage, encouraging other men.’
