Albert Edward Hill was born in 1882 and attested for the Oxfordshire Light Infantry on 19 December 1899, serving with the 1st Battalion in South Africa during the Boer War, and subsequently with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 14 August 1914. Wounded during the Great War, he was discharged to a a pension on 18 December 1922, and subsequently joined the Corps of Commissionaires. He died in London in June 1928.
