Roettiers, bust right, rev. moon and stars over landscape, 49mm (MI I, 704/111; E 320); France, Compagnie Universelle du Canal Maritime de Suez, 1888, a silver medal by L.-O. Roty, seated figure of La France holding torch, being presented with a bag of money by a robed figure, rev. legend commemorating the opening of the Canal in 1869, 42mm (Roty Compagnonnage p.89; Coll. R. Marx 21; PBE –; BM Acq. 1983-7, p.25, 147; BDM V, 230; cf. DNW 57, 1395); and a modern Japanese medal, 1979 [3]. About very fine (£40-50)
