Alfred the Great (871-899), Penny, diademed bust right, rev. londonia monogram, cross potent above, rosette of pellets below, 1.53g/2h (N 644; S 1061). Slightly bent and with two minor hairline surface cracks on obverse, otherwise very fine with attractive portrait and dark tone (£2,000-2,500)
