George Henry Stanyer was born in 1896 and attested on 5 December 1915; to Army Reserve “B” 8 December 1915; mobilised 22 January 1916, 3rd Battalion, Durham Light Infantry (29319 Pte.), transferred to Machine Gun Corps 13 March 1916; served B.E.F. with 122 Company M.G.C. from 16 May 1916; admitted to 38 General Hospital, Camiers, with trench fever 5-18 August 1917; promoted to Corporal 5 November 1918.
