Edward Samuel Jones, a native of Rhoscolyn, Holyhead, attested for the Manchester Regiment and served with the 8th Battalion during the Great War in the Egyptian theatre of war from 25 September 1914. He died of wounds in Egypt on 10 June 1915, aged 22, and is buried in Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.

John Henry Williams attested for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and served with the 1st/4th (Denbighshire) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 9 June 1918, aged 41, and is buried in Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
