Rupert Albert Lewis Clark-Walker was born in England on 4 January 1887 and having emigrated to South Africa attested for the Transvaal Scottish Regiment on 14 October 1914. He embarked for the Western Front on 27 May 1915, and saw further services with the Union Defence Force during the Second World War.
