M.S.M. London Gazette 22 February 1919:
‘In recognition of valuable services rendered in connection with the War.’

William Herbert Stevens was born in London, England, on 1 December 1889 and having emigrated to Canada attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Forces in London, Ontario, on 25 September 1915. He served with the 70th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Western Ontario Regiment) during the Great War in England, and for his services as one of the Battalion’s senior N.C.O.s was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. He died in Ottawa, Ontario, on 6 September 1962.
