Frederick Harris Merriman was born on 18 May 1873 and attested for the City of London Police. A member of the City of London Police Tug of War team, he represented Great Britain at the 1908 London Olympics, and was part of the Gold Medal winning Tug of War team. He died on 27 June 1940.
