Hampshire, Southampton, Taylor, Moody & Co, Westwood’s Halfpenny, 1790, bust of Sir Bevois left, rev. arms, taylor edge, 12.97g/6h (DH 85). Some light discolouration, otherwise extremely fine and very rare (£70-90)

Walter Taylor (1734-1803), shipwright and brewer; Richard Vernon Moody (†1792), banker, wife’s name Mary Annabella,
née Nicholas (†December 1829, aged 73); a memorial tablet in the Church of St Mary of the Assumption, Froyle, records the deaths of Moody’s two daughters, Mary (†July 1855, aged 67) and Rebecca (†April 1860, aged 69).
