James VI (1567-1625), Before Accession, One-Third Ryal, 1570, no stop after in, 10.11g/10h (B 4; S 5476). With crowned thistle countermark for the revaluation of 1578 to left of sword hilt, cut to right and some hairline scratches both sides, otherwise about very fine, the date very rare (£800-900)
