Alexander III (1249-1286), Second coinage, Sterling, class D, rev. c with peaked waist and fishtail serifs, four mullets of 6 points, mullet in third quarter appears struck over a star, 1.37g/10h (SCBI 35, 200; B 27a, fig. 158a; S 5057). Very fine, the alteration of the reverse die unusual and interesting (£60-80)
