Alexander III (1249-1286), First coinage, Sterling, class VIII, Berwick, Johan, iohan on ber, cross above sceptre, first a barred, 1.53g/2h (SCBI 35, 158; cf. B 4-7, figs. 80-3; S 5048). A little off-centre, obverse nearly very fine, reverse better, the variety rare (£120-150)
