James V (1513-1542), Third coinage, Ducat or Bonnet piece, 1540, mm. saltire on obv., cross on rev., bust in bonnet right, annulet on inner circle behind, 5.65g/5h (SCBI 35, 905; B 4, fig. 754; S 5373). Scratch in front of face, otherwise very fine with attractive tone, very rare (£3,500-4,000)
