James V (1513-1542), Second coinage, Crown, type III, mm. radiant star on obv., crown on rev., shield with rounded base, crown with seven jewels to band and hatched interior, rev. pellet at end of legend, otherwise trefoil stops both sides, 3.42g/6h (SCBI 35, 896; cf. B 6; S 5370). Well-centred, extremely fine, rare (£2,000-2,500)
