James V (1513-1542), Second coinage, Crown, type III, mm. radiant star on obv., crown on rev., shield with slightly pointed base, crown with nine jewels to corded band, hatched interior, rev. five pellets before lis on limbs of cross, trefoil stops both sides, 3.40g/2h (SCBI 35, 895; B 8; S 5370). Very fine, rare (£1,200-1,500)
