Victoria (1837-1901), Proof set, 1839, comprising gold Five Pounds, Sovereign and Half-Sovereign; silver Crown, Halfcrown, Shilling, Sixpence, Britannia Groat and Maundy set; copper Penny, Halfpenny and Farthing [15]. Gold lightly brushed, Five Pounds with some wear on the high points, bagmarked by eye and with minor rim nicks, silver with matching attractive tone, mostly better than good extremely fine; contained in a modern maroon fitted case by Spink (£20,000-25,000)
