A Great War ‘posthumous’ M.M. group of four to Lance Corporal C. Dempsey, Manchester Regiment

Lance Corporal Charles Dempsey was born in Bootle, Liverpool and enlisted at Lancaster. He was killed in action France and Flanders 1 October 1918 whilst serving with the 2nd battalion Manchester Regiment. It was on this day that the Commanding Officer of the battalion won his D.S.O. and it is thought that Dempsey’s M.M. was also for this action.
