Michael & All Angels Church Schools, Sheffield, 1887, a copper-plated white metal medal, unsigned, subscribed by the Congregation, 44mm (W & E –); Visit of the Duke and Duchess of York to Sheffield, 1895, medals (5), by W. Owen, in white metal, 38mm (W & E 1820A.1), by A.E. Harris (2), uniface bronze, 39 x 35mm (W & E 1822A.1), uniface brass, 39 x 35mm (W & E –), unsigned (2), both white metal, 31mm (W & E 1824A.1) [9]. Sir John Brown (1816-96), founder of John Brown & Co, Atlas Works, Brightside, mayor 1862-3, master cutler 1865-6, the self-styled father of the South Yorkshire iron trade, inventor of the spring-loaded railway buffer. The Duke and Duchess of York (later George V and Queen Mary) visited Sheffield on 10-11 May 1895
