Miscellaneous Tokens and Checks, George III, Shilling, 1817, obv. countermarked with a twin-towered castle, flag at centre, all within a rectangular indent with angled upper corners, 4.97g (D –). Coin worn, countermark very fine, unusual £150-£200

The countermark is somewhat redolent of that on some of the Scarborough siege issues
