Edward the Elder (899-924), Penny, Two Line type [HP 1], moneyer uncertain, cross pattée, rev. haher eiemom, three crosslets between, trefoil of pellets above and below, 1.44g/6h (Blunt and Stewart, NC 1983, p.158, B5, this coin; BMC –; N 649; S 1087). Ghosting on obverse, otherwise about extremely fine, dark tone £600-£800

Provenance: Bossall/Flaxton (N. Yorkshire) Hoard, 1807.

This specimen is described by Blunt and Stewart as part of the blundered series struck in East Anglia late in Edward’s reign
