Arethuse, the quarterly publication compiled by Jean Babelon and Pierre d’Espezel of the Cabinet des Médailles, Paris, and edited by one of the city’s pre-eminent dealers, Jules Florange, first appeared in October 1923 and quickly established itself as an important vehicle for disseminating the latest news on the emerging Art Déco medallic scene, as well as covering all series of classical coins
