Finchley Horticultural Society, 1892, an engraved silver medal for Most Creditable Exhibit, named (A.T. Langton, Esq), 33mm; National Rose Society, silver award medals (2), by Pinches, one gilt, shield on wreath, revs. named (Harrow 1903, B.H. Langton, Best Rose Amateurs, ‘Mdme. Cusin’; Harrow 1905, B.H. Langton, Best Rose in Show, ‘Horace Vernet’), both 41mm (MJP p.176); Festival of Empire, Imperial Exhibition and Pageant of London, Crystal Palace, 1911, silver award medals (2), by Pinches, Britannia standing facing, holding trident and laurel, naked man with torch at left, draped woman with wheatsheaf at right, revs. border of wild roses, named (J.B. Langton, Bowl of Roses; J.B. Langton, Vase of Roses), both 63mm (MJP p.43; Allen 10, large size [as Allen 20 obv.]; BHM 4087 rev.) [5]. Very fine and better, the 1911 medals rare (£90-120)
