Hammer Price:
£840

18th Century Tokens, Bedfordshire, Puddington, W. Waller, Halfpenny, 1797, bust right, from the die with the eye filled in, rev. three-masted ship, edge plain, 8.45g/6h (DH 5). A little weak in centre of ship, otherwise about extremely fine and patinated, very rare (£400-600)

Almost as fine as the Cokayne/Bagshawe specimen (Glendining Auction, 3 November 2000, lot 774, £1,200), and far superior to the Jan/Noble example, auctioned for £450 in 1983
