Provenance: Glendining Auction, 12 October 1966, lot 144 (part); D. Fearon Collection, Spink Auction 8, 27 February 1980, lot 432.

A striking after the reverse die broke, on a thick flan, flat letter bases, presumably with the use of a collar, and there might be a diagonal or stepped witness line from a collar, although not obviously so. This would have compensated for the damaged die. This striking, probably done by Simon, pushed the dies to their limit
