XI: Hammered Coins of Charles II, First issue, Shilling, mm. crown on obv. only, crowned bust left, no inner circles or mark of value, carolvs ii d g mag brit fr et hib rex, rev. christo avspice regno, shield, stop above, dies 2/2, 6.04g/93.5gr/8h (ESC 273 [1009]; N 2762; S 3308). Some peripheral weakness and a trace of double striking on obverse, tiny mark in field before King’s face, otherwise very fine and the shield well-struck, rare £1,200-£1,500
