Launched in 1974, the Heuer Silverstone was available in three dial colours; red, ‘fume’ and blue. The watch was named after the iconic motor racing circuit in Northamptonshire, England, which is home of the British Grand Prix.
The Heuer Silverstone was famously worn by the Swiss Grand Prix driver Gianclaudio ‘Clay’ Regazzoni who competed in Formula 1 races for Ferrari, BRM, Ensign, Shadow and Williams from 1970 to 1980, winning five Grands Prix. This model is often referred to as the ‘Clay Regazzoni’ for this reason.
