An 1896 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword GVIR Period.
The 85cm straight blade by John Jones & Co. 33 Bruton St. W.1. is etched with the crowned Royal Arms and GVIR cypher and panels of scrolling foliage. Pierced sheet metal guard incorporating the GVIR cypher, wire bound fish skin grip, brown leather sword knot, leather bound wooden scabbard, chamois lined blackened linen carrying bag,
all areas have been well re-plated, good bright condition but with some loss of definition to the blade, carrying bag with damage £140-£180
