William Hughes was born at Colwall, Herefordshire, and enlisted at Cardiff (Pembroke Dock). He was killed in action in France on 25 September 1915, aged 46, and is buried in Brown’s Road Military Cemetery, Festubert. Sold with a photograph of his headstone.
